CONTACT: Editors at [email protected] For immediate release: April 2, 2018

Apeldoorn, The Netherlands / Belfast, UK / Grand Rapids, USA—Scholars of the Theological University Apeldoorn (TUA), Queen’s University Belfast (QUB), and Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary (PRTS), Grand Rapids have launched a new online and international academic journal, the Studies in Puritansm Journal, https://www.studiesinpuritanism.org/

Twentieth-century and early twenty-first-century scholarship on Puritanism offers a wide and varying outcome: a result of different interpretative frameworks and different research aims. The differing frameworks can be characterized as either focused theologically or interdisciplinary with the respective aims of edifying the church or contributing to the field of humanities. Arguably, both are deficient as they lack a broader interpretive framework and aim of research. This journal is serving the growth of studies in Puritanism, and advocates for a research framework that is meaningful to both the academy and the church.

The editors, Joel R. Beeke (PRTS), Crawford Gribben (QUB), Adriaan C. Neele (PRTS / Yale University), and Herman J. Selderhuis (TUA) are assisted by an editorial board consisting of John Coffey (University of Leicester, UK), Lee Gatiss (The Church Society, Cambridge / New College, Oxford, UK), Johanna Harris (Exeter University, UK), Michael Haykin (Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, USA), Paul C.H. Lim (Vanderbilt University, USA), Anthony Milton, University of Sheffield, UK), Kenneth P. Minkema (Yale University, USA), Greg Salazar (Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, USA), Alison Searle (University of Leeds, UK), and Willem van Vlastuin, Free University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands).

The Studies in Puritanism Journal is a worldwide interdisciplinary and professionally refereed digital publication. Once each spring and fall, the editors will select appropriate items for online publication in Studies in Puritanism Journal. The inaugural issue is scheduled for September / October 2018, and invites graduate students, scholars, clergy, seminarians, and other readers of Puritanism to submit their articles, book reviews, notes, and documents to the editors for review and online publication. Comments on the reviewed articles will be sent to the author.
