Masters Degrees that Will Prepare You for Ministry

Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary offers four graduate programs designed to meet the needs of church and ministry: the Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree, the Master of Biblical Counseling (MABC) degree, the Master of Arts in Religion (MA) degree, and the Master of Theology (ThM) degree. Our programs are demanding and thorough; we believe that there are no shortcuts to proper preparation for ministry. Graduates find that the work done at PRTS is foundational, instructive, and invaluable for the rewarding obligations of their vocation and ministries.

Master of Divinity (MDiv)

106 Credits – 3-4 Years
The Master of Divinity (MDiv) educates and prepares men for official, ordained ministries of instruction and leadership in the church as pastors, evangelists, missionaries, and teachers.

Church Embedded Master of Divinity (MDiv)

106 Credits – 3-4 Years
This is the same degree as the regular MDiv, but is geared toward students who are unable to relocate to attend seminary.

Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling (MABC)

62 Credits – 2 years
The Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling (MABC) program is designed to serve the church with biblical, reformed, and experiential counselors.

Master of Arts (MA) in Religion

65 Credits – 2 - 3 Years
The Master of Arts (MA) in Religion program educates and prepares the student for service in a teaching capacity. It can also be used as a transitional degree to additional graduate studies.

Master of Theology (ThM)

30 Credits – 1.5-2 Years
The Master of Theology (ThM) program expands and deepens a student’s abilities in ministry. It is designed for students who possess a Master of Divinity degree or equivalent to help them take their learning to a higher level.
